7 Steps to Create a Cricut Border
- Create a border by inserting a rectangle and adjusting its size (e.g., 5×7 rectangle). You can find the rectangle shape in the shapes menu or by clicking “Insert Images” and selecting “Shapes.”
- Add other images or font from Cricut Access then put the rectangle behind it. Click and drag the rectangle to the bottom layer.
- Change the default color to a different color. Duplicate the rectangle and resize the duplicate. To do this, right-click on the original image and select “Duplicate.”
- Place the smaller rectangle over the larger one and select both to align and center them. To align, select both rectangles and click “Align” in the upper right corner, then “Center.”
- Use the ‘Slice’ tool to remove the center and create a border. With both rectangles still selected, click “Slice” in the lower right corner. Remove the extra border pieces to reveal your new border.
- Don’t worry about the black border. It’s just a cut line.
- Customize the border by adding names or other elements to make it uniquely yours. All that’s left to do is to click print.

This easy-to-follow process will help you create beautiful borders for your Cricut projects. You can change the colors or make a plain white border if you like.
