I’m sure you’ve seen those really trendy printable mandala coloring pages in stores and all over Pinterest. They are a great way to relieve stress, motivate you or just unwind at the end of a long day.
I created a simple mandala coloring page that you can print for free.
You’ll find it at the bottom of this post.
Here is another coloring page for relaxing.
Personally, I love the idea of anything that brings creativity into adulthood. It’s like a little pick me up for your day. Having a creative outlet like coloring is not only fun but can also be therapeutic.
I especially love how you can color them and embellish them with your own style.
This also makes adult coloring books a great gift to give, to a teacher, a co-worker or as a secret Santa gift.

I get commissions for purchases made through some of the links in this post. There is no extra cost to you. See my full disclosure here.
Why Adults Are Buying Coloring Books
Since coloring books are largely associated with children, some people wonder why adults are buying coloring books.
Although it might seem child-like, there are many health benefits of this activity.
- Reduces anxiety
- Means of relaxation
- Contributes to mindfulness
- Reduces stress
Can Coloring Mandalas reduce anxiety?
Coloring mandalas is gaining in popularity. Probably because of all the talk of it reducing stress and anxiety. Those are two things that we tend to have ample amounts of when it comes to adulting.
In fact, the trend is getting so popular that, the New York Public Library hosts monthly coloring group sessions. They offer over 100 of these events every month, just for adults!
Still skeptical? Check out the description of one of the sessions.
“Stressed? The latest craze is artistic coloring for adults, and the adult coloring books have more intricate designs and patterns than those designed for children. This program allows adults to create wonderful pictures and offers a fun and unique way to unwind and express creativity. Plus, it can actually lower stress. Are you curious about this new trend? Come join the fun, it’s very relaxing!”

The most important thing to remember is to enjoy yourself. There is no pressure to be perfect or finish it all at once.
Before you throw yourself into coloring books, I suggest that you start with a full page mandala coloring page like the one down below.

Schedule time to color every week. This way you’ll be sure to get around to doing it. This could be once a week or every day.
For example, write down in your planner that you will color for 30 minutes before going to bed.
What’s Best for Coloring Books?
Use fun markers and colored pencils. Pick out a set of gel markers or colored pencils that you love the look and the feel of. The more you like them, the more you’ll be likely to use them.
I put a few suggestions for the type of colored pencils and markers that you can use in the instruction box below.
