How to Draw a Summer Gnome

Let’s draw a gnome that’s ready for some summer fun at the beach. We’ll use Inkscape, a free color palette, and a texture to give it the look and feel of a 3-D design.

The 3-D texture layer will be applied to his hat and outfit using the Hello Summer texture bundle.

Once the drawing finished you could even print it on your shirts or on your mugs if you have a heat press like the Cricut EasyPress or Mug Press.

Take a look at what we’ll be drawing in the video below.

WATCH the summer gnome intro video.

This tutorial is perfect for beginners because we’re using mostly circles and rectangles.

It’s easy to make and takes about 15 minutes. The good thing is that you can save the drawing in lots of different formats which means that you can make svg files or save them in jpg or png format.

We’ll use Inkscape for this drawing. The shortcuts that I use in the video can all be found in my Inkscape Ready Set Go! Ebook.

When you click on the button that says "Download the Hello Summer Kit" it will take you to a product page.

On the product page, you have two options, one box for the kit and one box for the color palette.

You can click the box that says "Hello Summer color palette" then you can download the palette for free.

Hope that helps.
