I want to share my favorite tools for Etsy with you. Of course, I use more than 3, but these are my go-to essentials that help me run my shop.
If you already have a shop or you’re thinking about opening an online shop, you’ve probably heard that it’s important to narrow down your search tools, what you use for search, or how you get people to find you and your products on Etsy.
I get commissions for purchases made through some of the links in this post. There is no extra cost to you. See my full disclosure here.

When is the Best Time to Open an Etsy Shop?
You may be thinking or wondering when is the best time to open your shop on Etsy. The answer is almost always, right now!
People are always looking for craft items that they want. People are looking for things to do and you can help them with the things that you make. They are looking for supplies, gifts for birthday parties, and personalized items, just to name a few.
It can be scary when you’re first starting out. But also exciting at the same time!
Top 3 Tools for Etsy Search
The first tool that I love to use for search is E-rank. E-rank is a website that ranks all Etsy shops, not just shops in the United States, but all the Etsy shops around the world.
My shop is located in France and I can use this website very easily.
Just recently, E-rank wrote a blog post about the most searched keywords on Etsy.
You can use this post to find keywords for your own listings by adding them to your description and titles.
But, you can also use any keyword that you find from E-rank and put it into my second favorite tool to narrow down the results.

Second Tool for Etsy Search
The second tool on my list is Google Trends. Once I enter the keyword that I found in E-rank, Google Trends will give me a graph that will show me related items that are trending for any time period.
I can put in the dates that I want to look at. Let’s say that I want to see the things that were trending last month.
I can just enter in the specific dates in the custom setting and Google Trends spits out a graph, with the high and low ranking time of year. They also show the regions where the keyword is popular.
And, my favorite part, is that it will show me related words. The goodies just keep coming.
You can take these related words and use them to help you write your listing descriptions in Etsy. This is how you get found by customers.
When you start using the words and terms that your real customers are using, you’ll get found in searches. More chances to get found means more chances for customers to buy your crafts. Doesn’t that sound good?!
So far, you have two tools that are great for search. Now let’s look at my third favorite tool.

Third Tool for Etsy Search
The third tool that I love to use for Etsy search is Etsy itself!
I can take all of the keywords that I found in E-rank and Google Trends and go into my Etsy statistics and see if any of those words are bringing people into my shop.
If you don’t see any of those popular trending words, you might want to add them to your listings.
You’ve seen the proof from the first two tools, that people are using those keywords in their internet searches to look for products.
