Where to Find Crafts That are Trending

In my opinion, the best place to research for trending crafts are the marketplaces, design sites, and social media that specialize in this.

These trend resources are:

What Crafts are Trending

So what crafts are trending? According to Etsy, last year’s top searches in the DIY and craft category will carry into this year.

These are some of the top searches from last year:

  • Paint by number kits
  • Beginner cross stitch kits
  • Wedding face mask
  • Pet supplies

The number one search term was “personalized gift”

Trending Color of the Year

This year Etsy predicts that the color sky blue will be very popular.

Think of the leather key chains and dog collars that you could make from soft leather scraps like the ones below.

DIY Gift Kits

Another rising trend is DIY gift-making kits. Since we spent a lot of last year learning new hobbies, making kits of these new hobbies to share with loved ones is a way to make us feel closer together.

Think about things like date night painting kits, paint your own coaster kits for home entertaining, and embroidery pattern kits.

Personalization (which was the number one search term) is closely related to the kits.

Add an extra touch to your DIY kit by personalizing it.

To personalize a craft, you can add a name to it. Here are three ways that you can add text to your drawing

Easy Crafts for Home Entertaining

It’s no surprise that home entertaining is high on the trend list. The easy crafts that you can make to go along with this category are:

  • engraved whisky glasses
  • Personalized charcuterie boards
  • Cocktail shakers with funny sayings

Of course these can be used to commemorate a special occasion like a wedding or an engagement.

You don’t have to wait for a special moment. These can be given as birthday gifts or just “thinking of you” gifts.

Once you learn how to make quote svg files, you’ll be able to personalize almost any item.
